Hello!  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and Certified Grief Informed Professional.  I have 20+ years experience  working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.  I received my Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Slippery Rock University and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Clarion University.  During my career, I have practiced in community counseling and private practice settings.

 

My approach is person-centered, non-judgmental, and compassion-focused.  I provide a safe space for focus on the here and now and for helping individuals to move forward.
 

My specialty area is grief management. I  provide psychoeducation regarding grief and help children, adolescents, and adults process life changes/losses, various types of grief events that life can present us all with. Together we can develop a toolbox that helps with constructively navigating and managing grief. I value the use of community resources/supports to also help with growing around grief.

I have expertise in helping clients who are struggling with:  Anxiety,/Stress Management, Behavioral issues, Communication skills, Depression/Mood Issues, Focus issues, Relationship Stress, Sleep Issues, and Trauma.  I utilize holistic and strength- based interventions.   Evidence-based treatment modalities I implement are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  I have an eclectic style regarding interventions and this could include use of written expression activities, and play therapy interventions.  The modalities and interventions utilized are tailored to the individual's or family's goals.  I am passionate about helping others to enhance their daily life functioning, cultivate self-compassion, and improve emotional and physical well-being.

Another area of specialty is helping children, adolescents and adults with sleep disturbances, insomnia.  Sleep is a foundational piece for overall physical and mental well-being, crucial for our mood, cognitive functioning, learning, and our immune system. I help with development of a sleep toolbox that enhances quality of sleep and thus leads to improvements with daily life functioning.
